Our organic leather
Good design begins with a conscious choice of materials. For our leather goods, we use vegetable-tanned organic leather from the hides of cattle raised on the URIA organic farm. Its natural structure and the patina that develops with wear give each piece its own unique character.
From this material, we create bags, belts, and accessories with clean lines and thoughtful details. Here, we show you where our leather comes from, how it's processed, and what Yotimo makes from it.

Our leather meets the highest standards.
We produce according to our ethical principles, because quality design arises from respect for animals and the environment. We source the hides for our cattle directly from a trusted organic farm in the Swabian Alps.
A small family business in southern Germany tans the leather using the traditional pit tanning method without toxic tanning agents.
Origin makes the difference

The raw material
The cowhides are preserved with salt directly on the organic farm. This keeps them intact until further processing. They are then prepared in the tannery for vegetable tanning – the next step in our organic leather production.
Vegetable tanned
We have our hides tanned at the August Renz leather factory in Tuttlingen. This family business combines five generations of experience with vegetable tanning. Tannins made from tree bark and plant extracts transform the hides into durable leather over several weeks. This is the material we use to create our bags, belts, and accessories at Yotimo.

Quebracho and Mimosa
For the tanning of our organic leather, we use vegetable tannins extracted from quebracho wood and mimosa bark. These natural tannins transform the hides into durable leather. We consciously choose to use vegetable tanning agents instead of chromium salts for our leather goods.

Organic leather with its own unique character.
No two hides are alike. Different textures and natural markings give our leather its unique character. With wear, it develops a patina and becomes a material that tells your story.
