The leather used is treated with various natural fats using a hot air process. This gives it an exceptionally pleasant feel, a vibrant surface, and a particularly distinctive look. Over time, each bag develops its own unique patina, becoming an individual companion.
The brass prong buckle serves as a visual accent, underscoring the robust, honest character of the design. In its design, we consistently adhere to a clear principle: simple by design. The Courier impresses with its spacious, functional design and clean lines. The roomy main compartment measures approximately 36 × 28 × 6 cm and offers ample space for documents, a laptop, or everyday essentials. A practical zippered pocket, ideal for valuables or smaller items, completes the interior.
The Courier is crafted from high-quality organic leather, giving the bag its exceptional stability and durability. Weighing approximately 1.1 kg, it remains both comfortable to carry and robust.
ABOUT OUR LEATHER
For our products, we exclusively use leather from organic cattle in southern Germany, which live year-round in herds on pastures in accordance with their natural needs. This natural husbandry leaves its mark: mosquito bites, small scars, or subtle irregularities are part of the character of each hide. It is precisely these natural characteristics that make each piece of leather unique and tell its own story.
Our vegetable-tanned organic leather is deliberately left in its natural state. Unlike conventional leather hides, which are often coated with plastic pigments, lacquers, or coatings to conceal imperfections, we completely forgo such surface sealants. The result is authentic leather with a vibrant texture, an open surface, and an honest character.
Our leather dyes are created from one to four natural color pigments. This results in subtle, vibrant nuances that can vary slightly from hide to hide. Dyeing, oiling, or waxing accentuates the natural characteristics of the leather's structure. Dyes and oils are deposited differently in the open pores, creating variations in color depth and intensity.
Additionally, the leather's natural color influences the final shade. This gives each product its individual character. A characteristic feature of vegetable-tanned leather is the potential for color migration: Color pigments can transfer through direct contact with textiles or other materials. This effect is generally minor, but can be intensified by moisture, heat, or perspiration.
Vegetable-tanned leather is a living, evolving material. Under the influence of light, the tanning agents, dyes, and natural fats in the leather change over time. The rate of this maturation process varies depending on the duration and intensity of light exposure. This natural change is not a defect, but rather part of the characteristic patina that gives the leather depth and character over time.
If necessary, gently clean your product with a slightly damp cloth, ideally using lime-free or distilled water. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents.
The open pores of natural leather allow moisture, oils, and dirt to be absorbed more easily. Stains are therefore best avoided through careful and gentle handling. Once stains have formed, they can be difficult or even impossible to remove completely. However, with proper care and use, your leather product will develop a unique patina over the years and become a long-lasting companion.
